Poppins Announcement 11 March, 2020

Following the decision of local care homes to suspend all non-essential visiting due to the Coronavirus outbreak, unfortunately Poppins Music Cafe is now cancelled until further notice. In this way we want to support the government strategy in slowing the spread of the virus and thus help to protect those most vulnerable and precious to us all. Let’s pray that all necessary actions are taken to limit the effects of Coronavirus and that we may be able to reconvene the cafe as soon as possible.

Our Poppins Music café exists to simply to enhance the wellbeing of all who ‘pop in’ through singing together and talking with caring folk over a cup of tea or coffee and cake. The café provides an empathic, supportive, much appreciated social outing for those with dementia and their carers and the happy, inclusive atmosphere is further enhanced by the attendance of others who are lonely and those who just love to sing.

We sing a mixture of hymns, popular songs and requested favourites using projected words and video. Keyboards, tambourines and maracas all enhance our merry sound! The well known songs and hymns chosen for each weekly programme include messages of hope, faith and encouragement.

POPPINS is held every Monday from 2.15pm -3.30pm in the church hall.

Disabled access into the hall is available directly from the car park on the right of the church.

Transport can be arranged if required.
